How We Teach Eco Agents

Eco Agents: Guardians of Our Green Future

"Small hands, big changes."

At FVIS, we believe that our students shouldn't just learn about the environment—they should lead the way in protecting it. Our Eco Agents are a dedicated group of student representatives from each year group who meet regularly to ensure our school is as sustainable, conscious, and "green" as possible.

Our Mission

Our goal is to empower every student to take responsibility for the world around them. The Eco Agents act as the voice of their peers, turning bright ideas into real-world action. We focus on three core pillars:

  1. Sustainability: Reducing waste and saving energy.
  2. Biodiversity: Protecting the plants and wildlife on our school grounds.
  3. Education: Teaching our community how to live more eco-friendly lives.

What We’re Working On (2025-2026)

  • ‘Let’s go Zero’: Our climate action plan (see below) highlights all the different areas we are working on this year. If you think you can help with any of these, please do get in touch.
  • Compost Kings: Implementing a new food waste system in the canteen to feed our school garden.
  • Energy Detectives: Ensuring all interactive whiteboards and lights are off when classrooms are empty.

Supporting Learning at Home

How You Can Help

Sustainability doesn’t stop at the school gates! You can support the Eco Agents by:

  • Using reusable water bottles and beeswax wraps in lunchboxes.
  • Walking, cycling, or scooting to school whenever possible.
  • Donating any spare seeds, gardening tools, or bird feed to our outdoor classroom.
