We are delighted you are considering Fetcham Village Infant School for your child. We warmly welcome visits from prospective families so you can see our wonderful school in action.

Reception Admissions

Children are admitted to Reception in the September following their fourth birthday. Applications for Reception places are made through Surrey County Council's coordinated admissions process.

Key Dates for September 2026 Entry:

  • 3 November 2025: Applications open
  • 15 January 2026: Closing date for applications
  • 16 April 2026: National Offer Day

Admission Criteria

When the school is oversubscribed, places are allocated in the following order of priority:

  1. 1Looked after children (LAC) and previously looked after children (PLAC)
  2. 2Exceptional social/medical need (supported by professional evidence)
  3. 3Children of permanent members of staff where the member of staff has been employed at the school for two or more years at the time at which the application for admission to the school is made; and/or the member of staff is recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage
  4. 4Children who will have a sibling at the school at the time of the child's admission
  5. 5Any other children

Our Published Admission Number (PAN) is 60 children per year group.

In-Year Admissions

If you are moving to the area or wish to transfer your child to FVIS during the school year, you can apply for an in-year place through Surrey County Council.

  • Applications can be made at any time during the year
  • Places are offered if there is availability in the relevant year group
  • We welcome visits before you apply

Visit Our School

We believe the best way to get a feel for our school is to visit us in person. We offer:

  • Guided tours during the school day
  • Open mornings for prospective Reception families (autumn term)
  • Opportunity to meet our Headteacher
