Below are the additional documents (click on the name to download):
Castle Sheet (Use this to talk about the features of a castle. This will prepare the children to draw and label their own castle picture)
'Ch' Words Sheet (Either print and write on the sheet or just write the words in an exercise book)
Winter 'I Spy and Count to Ten' Sheet (Count how many snowmen, robins etc and write the numbers in an exercise book, using the Number Formation Rhymes mat in your paper pack to help you)
Home Learning for 6th to 8th January
Below you will find our Home Learning ideas and activities for this first week. Please remember that Reception children need short, sharp bursts of directed learning: a maximum of 20 minutes at a time (sometimes 10 minutes will be plenty!). You will find the routine that works best for your child and your circumstances. As a suggestion, try for three or four focused learning sessions each day with breaks for free play and physical activities.
Children: make sure you help with tidying up, preparing food, cooking and getting dressed by yourself! Are you practising zipping up your own coat when you go for a walk and using a knife and fork independently?
We look forward to seeing you all again when we can. We are here for you on email and phone in the meantime. Be kind to each other and keep smiling!
Love The Reception Team xx
Thank you for all the AMAZING costumes for our very different Christmas play this year! Here is a sneaky peek of the Angels. (Some are action shots, so are a little blurry).
Look out for the video, coming soon to the website!
Don't forget to wear a Christmas jumper with your school uniform this Friday (11th December).
We made snow globes to decorate a tree!
Have you seen them yet?
Children in Need day 13th November 2020.
We came to school in MUFTI and donated money to Children in Need.
Then we created our own spotty headbands to wear.
We watched the duck race at 1pm and cheered them on!
Mrs Skilton's duck, Duckman and Bobbin' won the race!
Together with Fetcham Village Pre-school, the Infant School and the Staff Virtual Duck Race, we raised a MASSIVE £403.00! Thank you SO much!
The children really enjoyed our 2d Shape Hunt!
We explored the outside environment to find lots of shapes.
Can you spot the hexagons we found?
Why don't you look for different shapes at home this weekend?
We had another lovely time learning in the woods.
We collected six sticks each and made 2d shapes with them.
The children chalked on their favourite 'Friendship' tree, collected objects and even made a swing using thick string.
The woods gives us lots of opportunities to use our imagination and explore our beautiful environment.
We have been learning about Remembrance Sunday.
We made poppies to remember the brave soldiers.
We made Salt Dough to notice change.
We rolled and moulded it to create the initial of our name.
Did you bake and decorate it at home?
We have been exploring the number 5 by making shapes out of Multilink.
We talked about the different shapes we made!
We have been learning about Harvest and thinking of the busy farmers who work hard to provide the shops with food.
We have enjoyed exploring fruit and vegetables to print pictures, do observational drawings and investigated a butternut squash.
We used used our senses to explore it and thought of lots of 'describing words'.
Thank you for providing the children with wellies. They love using the woods to investigate the world around them - it's great for number work too!
We used the hall to make anti-clockwise and vertical movements with the ribbons and scarves.
We've had fun exploring shaving foam!
A big WELCOME to our new Rabbits class and parents and carers!
The children are settling in really well and are exploring their new classroom and resources.
They love being outside and using a range of resources on our lovely field.
We have already had fun investigating 'the woods' and have had a Music lesson in 'Mrs Hammond's garden'.
We are looking forward to lots of fun learning in the outside areas.
We have been learning to play alongside and with others, sharing resources and taking turns. Here are some photos of our first weeks at school.
We have been busy in the Home Corner, caring for our babies and each other!
Lunchtime at last!
We have been busy using one handed tools to paint, glue and cut!
