Fetcham Village Infant School

Last year we were delighted to be able to donate £15,000 to the Infant School for the amazing outdoor classroom that has been created outside the library, and we have already donated a further £4,800 this year towards this project. The remainder of this year's activities will continue to raise funds for this, along with the implementation of touch screen computers in all the classrooms. We also give a donation to each class on an annual basis, provide each classroom with a present from Father Christmas and support other school events such as Harvest Festival and the Year 2 leavers’ party.

We raise money in as many ways as we can think of - last year the Friends raised nearly £11,000! Our main fundraisers are the May Fair - last year raising an amazing £3,900 - and the Christmas Fair, which raised £3,100 in November. Throughout the year we hold various social events, including an annual Family Picnic in the summer term. We always have a presence at the school Sports Day, Oakfield Summer Sizzler and Fetcham Festival.

This year, we began in October when we hosted the ever popular Parents’ Night In where parents browsed a number of great stalls in the school hall whilst catching up with friends over a drink. For the first time we teamed up with Oakfield Junior School to put on a fireworks display for the village. This was a very successful event, raising nearly £2,000 for the Friends! We held our annual Christmas Fair at the end of November and also ran various other fundraising initiatives for Christmas including peg bags, Christmas cards and DVDs of the Christmas play 'Christmas Counts'.

Last term we held a Quiz Night with Oakfield Junior School, another Parents' Night In and our inaugural Golf Day at Betchworth Park Golf Club which made over £500!
