Golf Day, 31st March 2017
We held our first Golf Day at Betchworth Park Golf Club on the 31st March 2017.
What a fantastic day it was, with the weather gods looking down on us. Betchworth Park Golf Club nestles under the North Downs overlooked by the legendary Box Hill beauty spot. Founded in 1911 and laid out by the distinguished golf course architect Harry S.Colt, this parkland course offers 18 holes of delightful but challenging golf to Friends of FVIS golfers.
Tom Bridges the Head PGA Professional at BPGC helped to arrange and host this special day, which saw 20 golfers battle it out to win the coveted prize of Friends of FVIS Golfer Of The Year 2017! There can only be one winner as we know - congratulations goes to Nick Sinclair who scored a fantastic 36, only one point behind, scoring 35 points was Craig Hasting and 3rd place went to Matt Perry. Longest drive was awarded to Marc Hooper and Nearest the pin Robert Barnard; well done guys. A special mention has to go to Zoe who represented the lady golfers on the day, hopefully we will have a ladies team next year!
We managed to raise an amazing £516 on the day for Friends of FVIS, which was made up from a special green fee deal and some awesome raffle prizes. We would like to say a massive thank you to the following who all donated some great prizes for the day:
Tom Bridger, Foxhills Golf Club, Burhill Golf Club, Betchworth Park Golf Club, Leatherhead Golf Club, Hersham Golf Club/ Safari Adventure Golf and The Bell in Fetcham.
Friends of FVIS is looking forward to next year's Golf Day already, so you better get practising!
